From the rough framework to the shading, this probably took longer to draw than anything else I've ever done (I wasn't timing but it's probably somewhere around an entire day altogether) but
man I'm happy with how it came out. And now, several random comments about the content:
Thom managed to talk Flix out of reusing her Dalek costume again, but Flix refused to move out of the realm of science fiction. I think she's really pushed the boat out this year.
Flix is too big to get under the string, so instead they challenged her to try and eat the doughnut by balancing it on her knuckles.
Neither Thom nor I know if the katana is actually appropriate for her costume, but I chose it because it's easy to draw and she chose it because it's easy to carry around.
Mal put a plastic spider in Sarkany's drink when he wasn't looking, which he's only just noticed. However, she lost that smug expression when Eris won the arm-wrestling.
Ser made Sanston's costume for him, but he's listened to the cartoon so he knows it's a character he likes.
Cally, that's mean. Horatio, stop cheating - you can't use your paws for that.
Everyone's costumes are (c) their respective owners, which are in no particular order the BBC, Marvel Comics, Nickelodeon, Blizzard Entertainment, the Jim Henson Creature Shop, Edgar Rice Burroughs, and =
EvayoART.
That game with the donuts also looks fun. I don't think I'd ever heard of it before I saw this picture.
I'm not sure if it ever really made it across the Atlantic, but over here it's a traditional Halloween game like apple dooking. The aim is to try and eat the doughnut - or at least get it off the string - without using your hands. Other foods can also be substituted in place of the doughnut.
Games involving donuts (or other good foods) are the best games. I'll have to try that sometime.
Yep, that'll do it! Sounds like as much fun to make as to wear. Chicken wire is a very versatile material, great stuff. (A few years ago someone sculpted a huge skeleton out of the stuff and hung it in a building downtown.)
I haven't seen many chicken wire sculptures, but the ones I have seen were pretty impressive. I've also seen it used to add grip to wooden bridges.
It's very handy stuff. Impressive what can be done with it.
